Exploring Voi Town

Feeling like you have been bitten by the travelling bug? You feel like you want to go on a vacation but not very sure where to head to? Well, you may as well want to head towards the Kenyan coast, a town called Voi, just before you get to the coastal city, Mombasa. This is one place you are going to enjoy the best escapades that nature can give.

The exotic nature of the town itself can give any tourist a reason to head there every time an opportunity arises. Everyone who has been to Voi has given it a name that only defines the feeling that Voi town gave him. Location

Voi town is located in taita Taveta County, in the southern Kenya, in Coast province. It is the largest town in Taita-Taveta county and has a unique culture that makes it a dream destination for tourists. It has beautiful places to visit like the Tsavo East National Park and number of enjoyable activities for tourists like taking a walk to Mzima springs and also appreciating the tradition and rich culture of Voi town. You can mingle with the friendly people of Voi and get lots of memories to take back home.

Religion

The two major beliefs and religions practised in Kenya  are Christianity and Islam although Kenya is also home to a lot of other indigenous religions. This is the same case in Voi as well. This does not mean that you cannot visit Voi if you do not subscribe to any of the different faiths there. All you need to do is know about them and you will be fine. Avoid forcing your beliefs on them, simply go down there and respect the beliefs and cultures you find there, and all will be well.

Language

Kenya is home to 40 indegenous tribes and Voi being a town, you will definitely find people from all the tribes of Kenya. However, the main language being spoken in Voi is Swahili. But this should not restrict you from visiting the exotic town because there are people who can speak English and other major languages in the world so you can as well get a translator whenever you need one and still enjoy your vacation.

Climate

Voi town has a tropical climate which means it is generally hot throughout the year. But they have periods of rainy season and dry seasons. Strangely, during the dry seasons, it might get a little chilly in the evening and early morning so carry enough warm clothes depending on the time of year you are touring the town.

Voi town has some of the best accommodation for tourists at affordable rates. There are some like De Brook Resort that have self contained, fully furnished houses that are perfect for a couple on honeymoon or a family. Go down to Voi and enjoy without worrying where to lay your head when it gets dark.
